A presentation of the research report on the study opportunity "Community and Industry Engagement" by Dr. Akram Ramezanzadeh, Associate Professor of the Department of English Language and Literature at Lorestan University, titled "Using Artificial Intelligence Tools in English Language Teaching in Iranian Universities: An Opportunity for Inclusive Education and Creating Sustainable Peace through Second Language Learning," was held.
This study opportunity was implemented part-time at the House of Elites of Hazrat Abolfazl (AS) Corps of Lorestan Province for a period of six months, from July 6th to January 5th of the current year.
The presentation of the research report on the relevant study opportunity was hosted by the Faculty of Literature and Humanities of Lorestan University with the presence of the faculty members of the Department of English Language and Literature.
This meeting was held under the purview of the Community and Entrepreneurship Relations Management of Lorestan University, with the presence of Reza Asareh (representing the University's Industry Relations Department).
In this study opportunity, sustainable peace and inclusive education were defined as the main issues and concerns of the project from various theoretical frameworks, and the main components of these two themes, such as positive peace, critical education, and equity-based education, were addressed within the context of English language teaching.
Furthermore, the role of various artificial intelligence tools, such as digital storytelling tools and the interaction between humans and bots in English language classes, was also discussed.
The findings of the project have shown how artificial intelligence tools can be used to enhance critical thinking, move beyond the colonial approaches to English language teaching based on neoliberal educational norms, and also increase the critical emotional literacy of language learners.
Artificial intelligence tools have been introduced as tools for decolonizing language education and peace studies by creating a space for critical actions and creating critical peace.
It is noteworthy that the first part of this project has been accepted in a journal with an ISC index (with an impact factor and the first quartile), and the specifications of the article are provided in the following link:
