The Fifth National Amirkabir Festival
(Applied Employer-Oriented Student Theses and Dissertations)
The university, industry, and society are the three fundamental pillars of the cycle of production and consumption of science and technology. Unfortunately, they do not have a structured and effective relationship, and despite having common goals, they do not share a common language. This communication weakness has negative effects on the scientific, economic, and social growth and prosperity of the country, and prevents society from benefiting from the results of scientific works and industrial achievements.
One of the platforms that can be effective in shaping the relationship between the university, industry, and society is the capacity of student theses and dissertations.
The National Amirkabir Festival, which is on the verge of holding its fifth event on a national scale, strives, with the approach of "practical action for interaction and communication between the university and society and industry," to the extent of its ability and possibility, to fulfill the long-standing desire and need for "industry-university communication" and to put the strategy of applying and employer-orienting student theses and dissertations, with the priority of being needs-oriented, on the agenda in order to improve the business environment.
Industry and society have numerous issues, concerns, and problems, and guiding students' theses and dissertations in response to these concerns will not only prevent the waste of thousands of hours of research, but also the use of their results in various sectors of industry and management will lead to increased innovation, synergy, and the resolution of societal problems and challenges, while also creating special capacities for universities.
The National Amirkabir Festival has been formed in such a context to play a role in the culturalization and creation of a demand-oriented discourse for student theses.
