Introduction

Demand-Driven Dissertations and Theses

Considering the necessity of effective participation of universities and scientific centers in solving societal issues and addressing industrial challenges, it is essential to provide appropriate support for university research activities in this regard. Today, given the prevailing trends, the direction of student admission and training should be based on the needs of society and active industries. In this context, the guidelines for superior demand-driven dissertations are prepared and compiled in line with production, knowledge-based initiatives, and job creation, with the aim of encouraging students and professors to play a more impactful role in society and industry. In this regard, and in order to respond to social demands and national needs, and to develop connections with society and industry, universities must direct their research and technology programs towards the prioritized needs and necessities of the country. Accordingly, in the transformation plan for cooperation between universities and educational, research, and technology institutions with society and industry, and in order to respond to social demands and national needs, the following objectives are considered: making dissertations demand-driven, providing necessary incentives for professors and students implementing demand-driven dissertations, and considering special advantages for dissertation topics related to national needs. Based on this, universities, by identifying and supporting superior demand-driven dissertations and theses, can create useful chains and specialized networks between professors and students with industries, companies, and executive centers.
